If it has pixels, we can work with it!
Images
The development of image recognition mostly starts at the source: the image. At Studio diip we have got experience with a broad set of imaginary. Down below you can find a few examples of images that we work with.
Pixels
Whether we are talking about microscopic, satellite or thermal images (or even 3d points), Studio diip can work with it. That is the reason that we often say: ‘If it has pixels, we can work with it’.
Offline or online
In our projects we regularly come across images that are available online via servers or streamed with cameras. We also receive photos or videos from clients that are connected with their own camera.
Existing photos and videos
In some projects we develop software that analyzes your downloaded photos or videos. Sometimes it is necessary to categorize a large amount of images and see if we can
automatically count or detect a certain object or situation. In these cases it is possible to write a program or system that can process and analyze all of the big data at once.

Camera images
Generally we develop systems that work with a camera. From the used or existing camera, our software downloads photos or streams videos that we can analyze using our image recognition techniques. We are capable of downloading images with all sorts of connections that cameras can make. For example: we can load the images via USB cable, a special network or through the use of internet. Some particular cameras can be linked with gigE, FireWire or other specialized camera connections. Of course we can also build dedicated software where we can use images from your iOS or Android phone apps.

3D data
A relatively new development in image recognition is the use of 3D data. It is already possible to construct 3D images from a situation or an object by using different
techniques. Studio diip has a broad portfolio, working with Time of Flight cameras, Structured Light systems and with Structure from Motion algorithms. Hardware systems like Intel RealSense, Microsoft Kinect, pmd technologies camera’s, Occipital Structure sensor, Zivid One are very familiar to us and we even built a Structured Light solution with multiple cameras and projectors. We also work with systems such as: LiDAR, radar and multibeam data. To process 3D data, we frequently work with Point Cloud Library, OpenCV, Meshlab and Cloud Compare in our software. Eventually we can do a variation of detections and analyze or export 3D models.

Satellite images
Because satellite images are more available these days, they are easier to use when analyzing infrastructure, nature, and spatial planning. Studio diip uses image recognition on these particular field photos , from where we can get useful data. This means that the images from the air (or any other way) can give you the exact coordinates that you need.

Microscopic images
Detection on very small images can have a big effect. Nowadays a lot of microscopes have the possibility to scan the software directly and even control the microscope with that information. Therefore a (full or semi) automatic program can detect or identify SEM and normal microscopic images.
Thermal images
With thermal cameras we can make details visible that a normal eye or camera can not see. Take production errors for example or even the exact place of a heat leakage. You can also use the cameras to detect a certain material that reacts differently to heat. Studio diip has got the skills and experience with for instance FLiR or Xenics (thermal cameras) that can be needed for special projects.
