Project outline
Automatic screening of microscopic images.
- Detect Malaria parasites in blood samples
- Connect software to automated microscope
- Speeds up doctors’ diagnoses and saves time
Description
Malaria parasites can easily be seen in most microscopes by a trained microscopist. In the western world this is however a time consuming and slow process as usually different tests have to be done to be able to determine the type and presence of malaria. With an automated microscope and computer vision it is possible to pre screen images for the presence and type of malaria parasites to aid microscopists.
