Studio diip geselecteerd voor Startup in Residence Overijssel

Een inzending voor onderwater monitoring van AT-KB en Studio diip is door de provincie Overijssel geselecteerd om mee te doen aan het Startup in Residence programma.

De provincie is op zoek naar samenwerking met innovatieve bedrijven om gezamenlijk oplossingen te creëren voor maatschappelijke uitdagingen van de Provincie. Met de Startup in Residence aanpak hoopt de provincie daarnaast bedrijven een impuls te kunnen geven in de ontwikkeling van hun bedrijf. De provincie heeft ondernemende studenten, start ups, mkb, groot bedrijf en consortia met innovaties gevraagd om deel te nemen aan de procedure. Omdat AT-KB en Studio diip geselecteerd zijn werken we in een programma samen met de provincie aan nieuwe oplossingen op het gebied van onderwater monitoring.

Door de kennis van AT-KB op het gebied van watersystemen en het verzamelen van 3D data te combineren met de kennis van Studio diip op het gebied van automatische beeldherkenning denken we de provincie en eventuele andere afnemers te kunnen helpen door de ontwikkeling van een nieuw systeem. Dit systeem zal in staat zijn om automatisch boven en onder water de staat van vaarwegen, zwemwateren en ontgrondingen te rapporteren en belangrijke verschillen aan te geven.

Zodra er meer bekend gemaakt kan worden over deze oplossing zullen de provincie, AT-KB en Studio diip dit communiceren, dus verwacht binnenkort meer nieuws over deze nieuwe ontwikkeling!

Introducing the Blockchain Tourpool

With the world championships of football on the way and the Tour de France coming up, we’re right in the middle of the sports pool season. As there seems to be a blockchain variant of about anything, we decided to build the Blockchain Tourpool.

The advantages of having a sports pool in the blockchain, is that you don’t have to rely on any central authority that can be subjective. Also the risk of a security breach is low and you don’t have to worry about leaving your personal info, because only your wallet public address is used. Of course the main aim of this web page was to learn how to do it and show an interesting application of blockchain technology and the services we are able to provide as diip Blockchain.

Basically we created a competition that you can enter without paying any subscription or contribution to the pool, but it will still allow you to win the prize money of 1 Ethereum. With an Ethereum wallet you can enter and you only have to pay some Gas fees (normally around € 0,50) to be able to select your favorite team of 8 riders. When you’ve selected them, you commit them to the Ethereum Blockchain and the smart contracts will automatically handle it from there.

Scores from the official Tour de France website are uploaded daily and based on that points are automatically awarded to wallet holders according to a scoring table. During the Tour, you’ll be able to see the top 10 wallet addresses and their score, so you can see how well you’re doing. After the last stage, the winner will be calculated and the smart contract will transfer 1 Ethereum to the winning wallet holder!

New website

As you might have noticed, Studio diip has updated its website. The previous website was developed from scratch a couple of years ago, but lately it was working less well on mobile devices. The new website fixes that and it also adds some new content. At the moment we only have an English verison, but a Dutch version will be live soon as well. If you find anything that is not working properly, please let us know!

Expanding activities: Blockchain development

Because of our growing expertise developing blockchain, cryptocurrency software and in building automated trading software Studio diip has decided to launch a new initiative. With diip Blockchain we have created a new place for these activities, without compromising our focus and expertise on Computer Vision technology. diip Blockchain will operate as a seperate entity, but is still part of Studio diip.
