/in BCR /by diipOn sunday the 12th of december studio diip will test the Bridge Card Reader (BCR) at the semi-finals of the Dutch Meesterklasse (MK). To make it clear to bridge players where to place their cards a new table surface has been designed that can be seen below.
System overview
/in BCR /by diipFifth BCR movie
/in BCR /by diipThis movie shows a complete game of bridge, playing 52 cards. North always starts. The cards are dealt as following:
North: Ace of Spades, 5 Spades, 9 Spades, Jack of Spades, 4 Clubs, 8 Clubs, Queen of Clubs, 3 Hearts, 7 Hearts, King of Hearts, 2 Diamonds, 6 Diamonds, 10 Diamonds.
East: 2 Spades, 6 Spades, 10 Spades, Ace of Clubs, 5 Clubs, 9 Clubs, Jack of Clubs, 4 Hearts, 8 Hearts, Queen of Hearts, 3 Diamonds, 7 Diamonds, King of Diamonds.
South: 3 Spades, 7 Spades, King of Spades, 2 Clubs, 6 Clubs, 10 Clubs, Ace of Hearts, 5 Hearts, 9 Hearts, Jack of Hearts, 4 Diamonds, 8 Diamonds, Queen of Diamonds.
West: 4 Spades, 8 Spades, Queen of Spades, 3 Clubs, 7 Clubs, King of Clubs, 2 Hearts, 6 Hearts, 10 Hearts, Ace of Diamonds, 5 Diamonds, 9 Diamonds, Jack of Diamonds.
In the movie we always start at North and start with the Ace of Spades, followed by 2 of Spades, 3 of Spades, etc.
Besides the recognition of cards, the system also checks if the player at North has the recognized card in his hand and if the card is already played. If the recognized card is not in the players hand, the system takes an educated guess what card it probably is.
